On October 2, 2026, Anthropic announced the Claude Frontier Academy, committing $100 million to a specialized training initiative designed to prepare 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027.
Anthropic says initial cohorts are already running in San Francisco, New York, and London. The program is built around enterprise delivery workflows and is intended to accelerate production deployments of Claude across corporate environments.
Residency and Deployment Structure
The core curriculum consists of a four-day in-person intensive followed by a 12-week deployment at the participant’s organization:
- Days 1 to 3: Candidates work through a simulated enterprise engagement covering the full delivery lifecycle, from initial request handling to security reviews and production handover.
- Day 4: Participants take a practical exam based on a new scenario. Passing this practical evaluation awards candidates the
Claude Resident Engineerbadge. - Twelve-Week Deployment: Graduates return to their employers to execute an active production deployment with ongoing Anthropic cohort support and direct technical mentorship.
- Final Evaluation: Those who pass a final practical assessment after the twelve-week deployment earn the
Claude Frontier Deployed Engineerbadge. Anthropic expects the first final credentials to be awarded in early 2027.
Anthropic indicated that it plans to introduce additional training programs under the academy banner later in 2027.
Eligibility and Partner Access
The Claude Frontier Academy does not offer public self-enrollment. Access during the initial rollout is available to a select group of enterprise customers and partners. Organizations nominate engineers and can ask their Anthropic account team or partner manager about eligibility.
Early participating organizations named by Anthropic include Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, and Novo Nordisk.
Nominees must meet technical admission criteria:
- Demonstrated competence in core software engineering fundamentals.
- A record of building with large language models and helping others adopt AI.
- An assigned, concrete Claude deployment project waiting at their sponsoring employer.
- Prior experience building autonomous agents is explicitly not required.
General educational courses offered under Anthropic's standard Claude Academy remain separate and available to the general public.
Program Boundaries
The announced $100 million is a commitment, and 10,000 engineers is a training target. The program pages do not specify tuition terms or promise employment on completion.
