Home combines chat and Office work
The new Home brings Copilot Chat and Cowork together. Microsoft says Office in Copilot can create and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, with changes synchronized to the corresponding Office apps. The company says Home will begin rolling out to its Frontier early-access program in the coming weeks.
Code builds apps in a sandbox
Code lets users describe apps, dashboards, automations or workflows in natural language. Microsoft says it uses the technology behind GitHub Copilot and runs in a sandbox; organizations can host it within their own tenant. Microsoft Copilot Managed Runtime is in preview. The company says Code rollout through Frontier starts at the end of September, with a preview for Microsoft 365 Premium and Pro subscribers planned later this year.
Autopilot runs recurring work
Autopilot is a cloud-hosted agent that Microsoft says can monitor work and run recurring tasks. The company describes each agent as having its own identity, memory, computer and workspace, with tenant permissions and audit controls. Microsoft said it would expand Autopilot to private preview at the end of September.
The announcement does not give complete license, pricing or eligibility details for each feature. Microsoft’s rollout descriptions and product capabilities are company statements; access will depend on the staged release.
