Meta split its AI glasses launch at Connect 2026 on September 23 between two Ray-Ban models with different uses. Ray-Ban Meta Audio is available for preorder and is scheduled to ship October 13. Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) went on sale the day of the announcement. A separate, Meta-branded Adventurer frame starts at $249 and is due on sale October 23.
Audio has no camera. It can play music, handle calls and take voice commands, but Ray-Ban's product comparison says camera-dependent multimodal AI and Live AI are unavailable. Meta says the 43-gram glasses last up to 12 hours on one charge, with up to another 48 hours supplied by the charging case. They come in Clubmaster and Burbank frames.
Gen 3 keeps the 12 MP camera and 3K video recording, alongside a customizable button for Meta AI and a six-microphone array. Meta rates it for up to nine hours on one charge, an hour more than Gen 2. Its three frame styles are Aviator, Zena and Wayfarer. These are company-stated specifications, not independent battery or camera tests.
Meta also added Capri and Nova frames to its own-brand collection. It says buyers will have more than 100 glasses options across Ray-Ban, Oakley and Meta Glasses by the end of 2026. That figure counts style, color and lens choices; it does not mean 100 different hardware models.
